Stone and Rock Carvings

Moai at Rano Raraku, Easter Island

Stones and rocks as natural resources have fascinated human beings, both in their original forms and as creations through carvings. Initially used as tools in the Stone Age, the rocks continued to impact the technological and cultural development of mankind. Starting from caves, the stones and rock carvings have resulted into marvellous sculptures placed at religious and historical places, attracting tourists throughout the world.

It would be my endeavour to showcase the creations of art through stone and rock carvings at religious and historical places in India and other parts of the world.
